Laura Carpenter is a third-generation pharmacist. Today, customers range from international corporations to small businesses and individual healthcare practitioners. She has published and/or presented more than 100 articles on topics related to pharmacy law and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Carpenter is a member of the Board of the APhA Foundation and a past president of the American Society for Pharmacy Law. Additionally, she is Director at Large for the Arizona Pharmacy Association! She has served on multiple committees for the American Pharmacist Association. She has been recognized with the Martindale Hubbell AV® Pre-eminent Peer Review Rating, and as a U.S. News & World Report Best Lawyers in America: Healthcare. She is also the recipient of the Phoenix Business Journal Outstanding Woman in Business Award and the Arizona Pharmacy Alliance Pharmacy Appreciation Award. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from Ohio State University and earned her Juris Doctorate from Ohio State a few years later. She holds a Master of Laws degree in Biotechnology and Genomics from Arizona State University.
Ms. Carpenter and her husband Brian are proud “pet parents” to four cats. Avid travelers, they enjoy experiencing other cultures and the intricacies of life in the U.S. and abroad.
“I see how hard it is for people to keep up with the crazy fast pace of their jobs”, she says. “My goal at Bula is to make their jobs easier so they can spend time doing more ‘exciting’ work and still get home to the people they love.”
Laara van Loben Sels
VP, Sales and Marketing
Laara van Loben Sels joined Bula as Director of Sales and Marketing, bringing with her a wealth of experience working with compliance and regulatory professionals in Fortune 500 companies and State and local government. Laara’s experience also includes a technology background, with a focus on SAAS and emphasis on the customer experience. Since joining Bula in 2017, Laara has enjoyed meeting Bula’s partners and clients and learning the intricacies of the ever-changing healthcare compliance landscape – this serves Laara’s mantra of “always learning.”
A graduate of Arizona State University and originally from Southern California, Laara currently resides in Phoenix. Leisure time is spent with her dogs, enjoying Arizona’s great outdoors, and renovating her house – a seemingly endless project.
